Shopping is absolutely one of the most fun things you can do in Malaysia. Although every state has its own line up of attractions, the Klang Valley is simply THE place for some serious retail therapy. It has everything from glitzy, exclusive malls and all- year affordable mid-range outlets, to exotic street markets and funky mom and pop stalls. There is something just right for every type of shopper, which is why it is my all-time favourite shopping hang out! Want to know more about what the malls here have to offer? Here goes…
It’s impossible for any shopper in the Bukit Bintang district to miss Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. It stands out like a beacon, calling out to every passer by to indulge in its fascinating plethora of fashion, food and urban leisure. Over 550 stores in eight themed precincts await to offer you some of the best of the international and local retail world, making it one of the most loved of shopping malls in the whole country.
Love your designer labels? You could spend a whole day browsing through the racks and shelves of Versace, Moschino, Chopard, Balenciaga, Diane von Furstenberg, Manolo Blahnik and countless more top range labels. If you’re looking for something fashionable yet easier on the pocket, there are just as many stores to keep you occupied.
Feasts for the ravenous and bites for those feeling peckish are served in restaurants and cafes throughout the mall. Al- Amar Lebanese Restaurant, Tonkatsu by Wa Kitchen, Paul and La Boca are just a few outlets to look out for if you’re in the mood for something fancy. The ultra popular Food Republic in particular, whips up international cuisines to throngs of hungry patrons right from the moment the doors open. For a bit of R & R, head up to cinema, karaoke or even the exclusive beauty hall on the seventh floor, dedicated to female patrons alone.
The Pavilion Crystal Fountain at the entrance to the mall makes a captivating background for a photo especially at night- so make sure to snap a shot when you’re done shopping here.
